Invitation

This is my wedding invitation. Everyone should have theirs by now, so I thought it would be ok to share. I had to blur out some info at the bottom, but you still get the idea of what it looked like. I'm doing a black and cream damask theme with a dark pink. I wanted the invitations to be simple, yet classy looking. I printed and put them together myself. I did have help from friends which was nice. It was definitely a lot of work, but I am pleased with how they turned out.
This is a close up of the J in the center. I printed a large J on the invitation paper and the other wording was printed onto velum.
The ribbon I used to tie it all together was a black satin with dull dots on it.

You did a wonderful job on these!! I just love them - so simple and elegant!! I actually made my wedding invites too - it was so worth it and I have one framed in a random hallway of my house and it makes me smile every time I see it - even 4 years later!

"Anonymous" is just JEALOUS, Melissa! SHE won't be at the wedding anyway so it really doesn't matter what SHE says :)

I think if the teaching thing ever gets old, you are going to have invitation creating to fall back on. I love it! I think too often people think invitations have to be so over the top but I love the simplicity! I think it is even more ridiculous though what some places will charge you to have invitations made. I cannot wait to see all of the wonderful things at your wedding when you share pictures with us!

I too am shocked that someone would rudely comment that they "look cheap", but yet, hide themselves and be anonymous. Whatev, right?
Anyway, I think they are very classy and I am glad I got to help give some input on the invitations. You did an amzing job and got away with the invites looking like they were professionally made! I love them and I am so glad we all got to spend the weekend and so many talks with so many people at the lake. Get ready b/c in just days you will be Mrs. Jones~!
