Sold!

On March 27 we put our house on the market.

We had 9 showings in 7 days and a contract on the 8th day. It all happened so fast! What's even wilder is that we are in crazy pack mode right now and will be moving out this coming weekend. And because it all happened so fast, we are moving to my mom's for a few months to regroup, save, and find the next perfect home for our family.

Although it is all so exciting, I am sad too. I bought this house before Dustin and I were even married all by myself at 25 years old. I'm proud of this home. This is the home we became a family in. There are lots of priceless memories that are attached to this home. But, it's time for us to move on and it's what is best for our family's future. That being said, we can't wait to see what happens next!

Flowerbed Surprise

Dustin didn't get to come with us to the cabin over Memorial Weekend because of work. However, he worked his tail off redoing all our flowerbeds and our pond to surprise me. I've been trying to find time to get out there and update our flowerbeds so I am super grateful for this nice little surprise!

Newborn Canvas

I've been wanting to order a canvas of one of Ashlyn's newborn pictures for a while now. Canvas People recently ran an amazingly good deal that I could not pass up for a 16x20. Isn't it perfect?

House Projects

I need to brag on Dustin for a minute.

I've already talked about how Dustin gave the outside of our house a makeover. It looks amazing and one of these days I'll get around to showing before and after pics.

But anyway...

After finishing the house, Dustin decided that we needed a shed in the backyard to keep our garage and yard from being cluttered. In order to get the size that he wanted, he had to build the shed himself. He calls it shed, I call it garage. It's the size of a 2 car garage but everything plus more can fit easily in there. I have been so impressed with his work!

There are latches on both sets of doors and there is gravel flooring now also. I didn't take another picture after he did both of those things.

So, now that those two big projects are out of the way, we will be moving on to Project Nursery very soon. I've already started cleaning out the room we plan to use. We have the furniture and I have the bedding and "theme" picked out! I can't wait!

New Floors

A couple weeks ago we ripped up all the carpet in the living room and hallway. It was past time for it to go and I really didn't want to put down more carpet. We decided to try what a few friends and Dustin's parents have done recently. We etched and stained our concrete floors. It's very inexpensive and fairly easy to do. I really like the way it turned out and it's so much easier to keep clean! Also, Dustin's parents gave us new (to us) couches. They were barely used and much better than the ones we had so we were excited! More money saved!
Sammy would NOT move out of the pictures!
This is a close up picture so that you can see that the floors are etched into 2 foot squares and stained with 2 different contrasting colors.
We are loving our new look so far!

Christmas Decor

I just realized that I never shared my Christmas decor with y'all this year. I showed my tree and mantle but that was it.

My pretty living room tree and mantle:

This is my Memphis Tiger tree that is in one of the front bedrooms.

My front door wreath and the matching swag were 2 of my first Christmas decor purchases several years ago.

I found this picture on Pinterest and had it printed at Walgreens.

I painted this plate and 2 other several years ago to put above my cabinets.

I also found this from Pinterest.

This wreath and its twin above the TV are from Pier 1. My cousin Lauren was a manager there and got her discount on top of the after Christmas discount and they were practically free!

I LOVE my Christmas dishes!

 My 2 manger scenes. Love!!

I absolutely adore Christmas decorations! I love getting them up early so that I can fully enjoy them!

Fall :)

I finally put my Fall decorations out for this year. It's been so warm that it felt silly to decorate for Fall. But, if I wait until it finally cools off around here, it might be time for Christmas decorations.

A lot of the decorations are the same from last year and some are new. I arranged everything a little different than last year though.

My mantle:

The sign was made by Jennifer last year.

The subway art in the frame was found on Pinterest and I just printed it at Walgreens in 8X10.

By the back door:

A few Halloween decorations:

My front door and outside:

I made this wreath several years ago but changed it up some this year.

Well that's all my Fall/ Halloween decor for now! :)
