Dinosaurs

We took our Preschool classes to the Memphis Zoo this week to see the Dinosaur exhibit. Dinosaurs are our favorite thematic unit so we were very excited to take the kids to see them! The dinosaurs are animatronic so they actually move and make noises. Some of them are very realistic. The kids loved it! I have to admit, the exhibit was very cool!

This Dilophosaurus spit water at the kids. So funny!

They have not stopped talking about the T-Rex!

They loved petting this baby dinosaur!

If you live in the Memphis area, you should definitely check out this exhibit before it leaves in July!

Christmas Party

I had work Christmas parties both Friday and Saturday night! I only have the pictures from Friday night though.

Friday night was my school's party at the Holiday Inn. Oh my word! I had so much fun dancing and hanging out with all my coworkers. I just adore the people I work with!

This is Dustin and I all dressed up and ready to go. I NEVER curl my hair. My hair is straight and fine and it's always just been too much trouble only for it to fall out 30 minutes later. But, Dustin's aunt sent me this amazing hair spray and the curls stayed all night even through hours of dancing!

Life Lately in iPhone Pics

Yesterday I did a little shopping. Old Navy had their sweaters 75% off. I bought 5 sweaters for $40. Steal!

I also bought a dress for my work Christmas party. I love the color!
Yesterday we went to Chuck E. Cheese for Neal's 5th birthday. He was all over the place so I really didn't get any pictures. This is him in the ticket box trying to collect as many as possible.

Last week at school we learned about cooking and nutrition. We made chef hats and cooked our mini pizzas.

We also had a school Thanksgiving lunch with our families. This is my class as little Indians.

Dustin has been busy busy working on this trailer in the garage lately. He's basically building it from scratch. It's a lot more work than I thought it would be, but he enjoys that sort of thing.

I started Thursday night getting my Christmas decorations up. So far, I've just decorated the mantle. I hope to get the rest done this week.

Celebrating Fall

Wednesday, I took my Preschool class to a local Farm/ Pumpkin Patch. We had so much fun!!

We took a hayride around the farm. They let us out at the pumpkin patches to pick out our pumpkins. The kids were so funny picking out "the one". Ha!

Here are the kids with their pumpkins. We also picked out a class pumpkin to carve.

Yesterday, the school dressed up in costumes for Red Ribbon Week. They were so cute!

Every single one of my boys were super heros! Not surprised at all.

And, my pretty girls!

We also carved our pumpkin. I carved and the kids scooped all the guts and seeds out. I'm going to roast the seeds and let the kids taste them.

Thursday Thoughts

Well another week has gone by and I haven't gotten a chance to blog. Here's what's been going on around here lately:

1. Last week in Preschool we learned about dinosaurs. We were Paleontologists one day.

2. Sunday, we had our usual football watch party. Both my parents and Dustin's parents were there along with quite a few of our friends and their kids. Dustin's mom made chili...perfect football food! ;)

3. See the knee brace on my dad's knee in the picture above? He tore his Meniscus and had to have knee surgery yesterday morning. The doctor said he did great. I went to see him after work yesterday and he's doing much better than I expected!

4. Tuesday night, Dustin and I had a date night in. We grilled pork chops and drank our favorite red wine.

5. I ordered these leopard print flats and they came yesterday. Aren't they cute?

6. This Saturday I'm helping my mom and aunt put together a bridal shower for my cousin. Everything is coming together perfectly! I'll show pictures next week.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week! :)

Teacher Tuesday

I'm excited to be linking up with Teaching in Heels for Teacher Tuesday! I've been finding some awesome ideas on Pinterest lately that I plan to use in my classroom this year.

I teach Pre-Kindergarten. Name recognition is one of our beginning of the year skills. This class book is perfect for that!

I like this idea of using magnetic letters for word work.

I made a parent communication binder just like this for my class. Documentation is so important!

I made a bulletin board just like this right outside my classroom. I also added pictures of the kids from their first day.

I love this!

Oh How Pinteresting

This week's Oh How Pinteresting post is dedicated to Back to School. I've found some of the best ideas on Pinterest for my classroom! Teacher friends, definitely check this website out. And, if you need an invite, let me know.

1. Putting fabric under your teaching table is such a great idea! It not only makes the table more inviting for small group, but allows you to hide storage underneath.

2. Pixie stick balloons for birthdays! How cute is this? My little ones would be all about this!

3. This would be so easy to make and would be perfect for those little ones just learning to read.

4. This cape would be great for dramatic play. The little boys, and I'm sure some of the girls, would LOVE this! I would have to make several to prevent problems. So simple, but fun!

5. My teacher friends would love these. I'm pretty sure I can make something very similar that would make great gifts!

6. I need this printed out and framed in my classroom!

7. And, something for all teachers to remember...
