Ok, I've been on the internet trying to come up with ceremony music. I've seen a few good ones, but mostly corny ones. I do not want to walk down the aisle to the traditional wedding march, so I need a song there. We're doing the unity candle so I want a song there. I will need a few more as well.
Ok friends, this is where I need you. Tell me some of the songs you used in your wedding. If you aren't married, tell me some songs that you think would work. I really NEED these suggestions.
Thanks friends!

I really love Steven Curtis Chapman's "I Will Be There" (I think it's SCC- don't quote me) for during the ceremony. Such a pretty song. I want to use it one day and have 2 soloists, male and female- one to sing the first verse, another for the 2nd, and then sing together for the rest of the song.
** oops, it's I Will Be Here, not there.
I didn't want to walk down to the traditional wedding march either so I chose the wedding processional from The Sound of Music. This was the only good video I saw of it on You*Tube...

We didn't do a unity candle but I did have my friend sing "How Beautiful."

We also had the song "I Will Be Here" sung.

And I really like the song "Love is Not a Fight" from the movie Fireproof.

Sorry for all the links!
Good luck finding the perfect songs!
I did the traditional "Canon In D" for the processional and Wedding March for our wedding, but a friend of mine did the Hawaiian version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and it was so beautiful! Another friend walked down to "I Could Not Ask For More" by Edwin McCain and that was nice too. Good luck finding your perfect songs!
My favorite song from my wedding was the Communion meditation song. It could work for the Unity Candle, as well. It's called "How Beautiful" and is decidely Christian - it talks about how Christ's love models the love the married couple feels. There are some wonderful versions out there.
Good luck!
I'm walking down the aisle to "Your Love Is Extravagant" by Casting Crowns!
I walked down to Cannon in D, and my bridesmaids walked down to The Forrest Gump Suite. It was really different, but so pretty. Every time I listened to it, it made me think of snowflakes. We were married in January, so it was perfect!
I have something for you on my blog!!
I too walked down to Canon in D. My bridesmaids and all the parents/grandparents walked in to Iz's version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and another of his songs. I thought it was perfect for the beach but it would be great elsewhere too! I got his cd off amazon for practically nothing!
This is what we used in our ceremony (at a Catholic church):
Bridesaids Processional - Trumpet Voluntary
Bride Processional - Canon in D
Recesional- Wedding March- Mendelsson
Allelujah - Celtic Allelujah
I walked down the aisle to "Ave Maria" - it was a nod to S's Catholic family. We had a string quartet playing all the ceremony music, it was beautiful. I also really love "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" - my mom walked down the aisle to that one :)
Ok, I love the traditional Canon in D to walk down the aisle to. Love it! It's beautiful. Also for maybe the unity candle, I love the song from Twila Paris "How Beautiful". I wish I would have done it in my wedding. Love it!!! I can't wait to hear what you do!
Pachelbel's Canon (or Canon in D - same thing) is gorgeous. And it seems to be a favorite among your blog friends. :)
I didn't have a big wedding but I know a song my friend walked down the aisle too, a little more for the reception but could possibly do..."From this Moment" Shania Twain & Brian White
Hey Melissa! I walked down the aisle to Canon in D. Also, we had a soloist sing "When God made You" for the unity candle(can't remember who it's by, but it's made to be sung as a duet with male/female parts, easily converted to solo). I really liked the song, but if I had it to redo today, I would use "Love never Fails" (Brandon Heath, I believe). I think it's beautiful and perfect for a wedding. Good luck!
