Well, today is the last day of 2008! Time flies!! This has been an awesome year for me and I am hoping 2009 will be just as great or better!!2008 was the end of my first year teaching Kindergarten and the beginning of teaching Preschool. It was a major transition, but one that proved to be so worth it. At the end of the school year last year, I won a Reading award given by the Reading First program for having 90% or higher of my class reading at or above grade level. WOW!! Then I found out I won the award for having the highest Kindergarten TCAP scores in Math of the entire county!! That was MAJOR!! There are no awards to win in Preschool, so I'm glad I was so successful last year. But, it's really not about the awards, because the rewarding feeling I get daily is the best award I could ever get from teaching.
This is my Kindergarten class (2007-08)
This is my preschool class this school year (2008-09)

Over the summer, I spent a lot of my 10 week vacation at my parent's cabin at Greer's Ferry Lake in Arkansas. This is Sammy (left) and Bo (right) on the Pontoon boat. They love to ride!
I also went to Destin, Florida with Dustin's entire family for a week for his cousin's wedding. It was a blast!!

In July, I bought my first house and I couldn't be prouder! It's hard sometimes by myself, but so worth it! I'm enjoying decorating and turning it into my own. Turns out, Kirkland's Home and Pier 1 are my new favorite stores. I would rarely go in these places before! Ha ha!!
As this year comes to a close, I'm thinking about how blessed I have been this past year and cannot wait to see what 2009 has in store for me! One thing I am anxiously awaiting is the start of next semester at school. We have a new Principal that will be starting. I'm not sure how it will be and how things will or will not change, but I'm so ready to find out so I don't have to wonder anymore.
Tonight, Dustin and I are going to our friends Jennifer and Matt's house! It will be a somewhat low key New Year's Eve, but I didn't want to go far. I made Jennifer and I these cute wine glasses and picture frames for tonight! Jennifer, sorry, I just spoiled the surprise! Anyway, the picture does not do them justice. They are waaaay cuter in person!
I hope you have a wonderful New year and that it is filled with blessings for you and your family!!
